Stroll along the famous【Tiananmen Square】- the largest city center square in the world. This is an assembling place for celebrations in traditional Chinese festivals and important days. On the other hand, the square is well-known among travelers for it is the entrance to the majestic【Forbidden City】. Built as an imperial palace complex nearly 600 years ago, it is now open to public as a tourist site as well as a museum, from where you get to know the emperors and their royal families' lives, appreciate traditional Chinese architecture and various cultural relics. An a la carte lunch is served for you at a decent restaurant. This afternoon, visit the  where emperors offered sacrifices to the God of Heaven in ancient time. The【Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding 】will be top priority on your agenda today. As a national treasure of China, the giant panda is loved by people from all over the world for its chubby body and cute appearance. When you arrive there in the morning, you will find those adorable pandas eating their meals and playing with each other. Lunch is not included today. Our guide is happy to give you advice for a good restaurant if you like. In the afternoon, visit 【Jinsha Site Museum】and the 【Broad and Narrow Alleys】. You can see precious relics including gold and bronze ware, and jade and ivory vessels in Jinsha Site Museum. Formerly the residence of the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911), the Broad and Narrow Alleys still keep some of the old lifestyles of the city. Wandering along these old alleys, you will also find many delicious local snacks and featured tea houses.

Free time in the morning-A bullet train to Chongqing-Railway station-Yangtze River cruise starts at about 21:30

This morning will be spared for your own arrangement. You can either explore Chengdu more deeply or replenish energy for following days' travel. Our guide will be glad to offer you some helpful information. In the afternoon, you will take a bullet train to Chongqing for around 2 hours. Upon your arrival, our local guide will pick you up and send you to a Yangtze River cruise ship. One thing to be noted is that dinner is not offered on the ship tonight and you'd better have it in downtown before getting onboard. Your memorable Yangtze River cruise will begin as the ship departs at around 22:00. It will be the most relaxing journey in your 13 days China itinerary.

Famous for its unique architecture and interesting fairy tales, Shibaozhai is reputed as one of world's eight most unique architectures. The Ghost City is a place to learn not only Chinese ghost culture, but also Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism. Tonight, the captain will hold a welcome party and the staff will give fantastic performances.

Yangtze River cruise trip

Today will be the highlight of the cruise as the ship will sail by the well known Yangtze River Three Gorges - Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, and Xiling Gorge. The lofty peaks, clear water, dense woods, and residences along the river form a picturesque scene in front of you. When sailing by Qutang Gorge, do not miss the scene on RMB10 note. When sailing to the border of Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge, you will change to a motorized ferry to have a 3-4 hours' cruise into Shennong Stream or Three Little Gorges. In this way, you can have a close visit to the beautiful karst landscape. If visibility is good, you could see hanging coffins and inscriptions on cliffs by ancient people. When getting onboard the original cruise ship, we will sail into Xiling Gorge, the most splendid among the three.
